Finally

From the park on February 23rd. I could feel the beginning of spring on this morning as I sat on my favourite bench for the first time in months. It made me happy.

A long walk that jill scott would be proud of :’)

Recent footage mixed with an old conversation. My favourite line in it is, ‘do not be intimidated by facades.’ Those words have been ringing in my ears from before I said them in the video, all the way to this moment. We’re aware of how contrived so many things are in life, yet we allow ourselves to feel small in their presence. It doesn’t sit right with me; I am trying to work against it. Anyway, there’s more than that in the video – I hope you enjoy it! (Also expect a post of some sort soon, about why you shouldn’t be intimidate by facades).

Hair Love

#picoftheweek
I took so many photos on this day and I don’t know what to do with them all lmao. So enjoy this one! It was my first time trying out this style and I loooved it! I love afro hair so much; the versatility it possesses is unmatched and I am grateful to have it growing out of my own scalp. Also, happy 2021! I’m very excited to try out new hairstyles this year.

So You Can Relate

This week my friend and I launched our podcast, So You Can Relate. It’s been in the works for a while and I’m so happy that it’s finally here. We’ll be discussing our approach to life as we begin our twenties, with our faith and desire for growth at the forefront of it all.

And does the title sound familiar to you? If yes, it may be because it’s the tagline for my blog! When I made it years ago, my sole intention was (and remains) to make content that people will simply understand and relate to. There is so much power in relatability and I will never stop being passionate about that.

I am blessed to start this journey with someone I value so much. It is teaching me a lot about the power of friendship and like-mindedness. This fixation I have on relatability has lasted long enough for someone to come into my life and take it further than I would have if I kept doing things solo. Truly, there is strength in numbers!

You can listen to our most recent episodes below, I hope you enjoy it ❣.

Tate Modern

#picsoftheweek

Last week I visited the Tate Modern with my sister. It was my first time there, despite hearing so much about it and signing up to the Tate Collective years ago. It was nice viewing art that I’ve seen so many pictures of in real life, such as Yinka Shonibare’s display, as well as finding my own favourites in the gallery. I know I’ll find myself there again soon, probably to view one of the exhibitions!

Feeling Pessimistic

This notes how I have been feeling recently. I hope it goes away because optimism lies deep inside of me. It’s just not awake right now. Amidst current feelings of pessimism, the one thing that I am optimistic about is when I will look forward to things again.
